Printmaking
Mokuhanga Print on Paper
8 x 10”
Process:
I began by drawing the general two-point perspective image
on paper then scanned it in.
I tweaked/cleaned up the image in photoshop, then added the wingdings and text. The laser
cutter did the hard work for
me on the key layer.
I then printed the key layer, including the kento, and used the traditional paste-up method to create 3 other blocks for the floor, wall, and highlight layers. Total of 4 blocks, I experimented with my Holbein colors, using
two different watercolor palettes depending on the tone of paper.
“Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. It’s lighter than you think.”
